Fancied getting myself a proper stove for brewing up and heating food on days out, so acquired me one of these....

Good points -
Holds 1.3 litres max, larger than most other stoves of this type
All packs down into pot for transport
Excellent price, much cheaper than other brands such as MSR or JetBoil
Boils very quickly
Can drink direct from pot - drink hole in lid and neoprene sleeve/handle allows you to hold it while hot.

Bad points - pot lid needs washing a couple of times when new to remove the smell of plastic.

Conclusion -
Absolutely brilliant! Boils enough water for two teas or a dehydrated camping meal in minutes, even outdoors as the flame is protected from wind. Gas regulator allows you to turn it down to a simmer so you could realistically cook soup or other 'proper' food without burning. You don't even need a lighter as it's got an in-line piezo ignition. I've not used it a huge amount so far (first proper test will be next weekend when I take it off to the Welsh mountains watching rallying), but I'm very pleased. Will keep you updated.

Cost - RRP I believe is £75 but I bought mine for £49.95 from outdooraction.co.uk

Quality (for price)- 5/5

Value - 5/5

Overall - 5/5

In action this morning - no bacon, but coffee and rehydrated macaroni cheese will do me.(y)
So easy to use and look after, I don't know why it's taken me so long to get one. Looks like this'll be a constant companion from now on my various outings.

Looks smart that, I was on CPC the other day and noticed the canisters and thought of this thread.

Really tempted except I have no genuine need for one other than I do like a gadget. :geek:

I'm sure I could have got by without one for many more years mate, but like you I do like a gadget. With a decent pan set it'll be ideal for Cougarfest. Now all I need is a proper tent, as opposed to a canvas dog kennel.(y)
