I recently used myus.com to ship some bonnet struts from the usa to myself.

There are a lot more parts avaiable for the Cougar over the pond, but the shipping is often non viable.

This is where the services of myus.com come in

For the boot struts the merchant wanted $80 to ship them to the UK, with myus it cost $21 and took only 6 days to arrive.

Basically you sign up for a free account with them , you can get a paid one but this is really only needed if you plan to import a lot of parcels.

When you check out or buy something from Ebay etc you put the shipping address as the one provided to you by myus.com , when the package arrives they will notify you, you declare the value if the seller didnt already do so and then they provide quotes for shipping depending on the service level you require - I picked to send as cheap as possible but that still was only 6 days to arrive, there are 1-2 day express services too.

And its as simple as that , it saves a massive cost in shipping and also opens up a world of new parts that sellers wont ship internationally

What happens if you get something shipped there and they can't ship it over to you?

I had a similar problem with eBay's Global Shipping Programme. I had ordered some PVC adhesive ( I wanted the blue stuff ) and it hadn't occurred to me that this might be a problem. I simply got a message saying it had been received by the forwarding depot en route to me, but could not be shipped ( presumably by air ) and was therefore being returned and I was refunded in full...
